Trained by Saving Grace

For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts,we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in the present age, looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us,that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works. (Speak these things, exhort, and rebuke with all authority. (LET NO ONE DESPISE… Continue

Weekly Word - MonTrelle Arnold

Hello everyone, it’s been a long while since I have updated this column and I apologize. Some people have tried to contact me and I have been out of pocket. I have been mostly behind the scenes lately making sure everything is flowing smoothly and taking care of myself. I have a condition I have to give attention to or I might lose my vision.

Let me start out by saying it is good to see so many people now on this web-page. When I see people that I know and they are excited about it and are saying they are talking to people they have not seen in years it makes me feel good. When Eric and I started this page over a year ago, we didn’t know how it would go or if anyone would ever come aboard. For almost 3 - 4 months we could not get past 25 members. Now look where we are, we are approaching 500 members strong. We actually have more than that who have signed up but their profile is not present because they failed to place a photo on their profile.

The picture I chose for this column means plenty to me. It is a collaboration of classes that came together over to my house on August 1, 2009. Everytime I see this picture it reminds me of how we can all work together for a better Carver and a better future for us all. I think of the fellowship that we have and will continue to have. The more people come to the site, the more interesting it will become. Eric and I had to add another administrator, Michelle Ford Bradley. It became too big for 2 people to handle. She has come aboard like a champion and assisted us tremendously with getting things and people approved and explaining what we can and cannot approve. We have removed the restriction on what pictures you can and cannot post. As promised, we are loosening the reigns as time passes. So now post all of your pics without reservation.

I have also included information on the homepage for a cruise scheduled next year in June. If you are interested, contact Charles or Diana and tell them I sent you. Anyone who has information they want posted for event such as cruises, trips or dances, etc, please contact one of the administrators and we will do our best to get it on the website so everyone can be notified. We also can send a broadcast message which means everyone on the site should receive and email about whatever the event is.

Yeah I know what your saying, for once he is not running his mouth but actually being informative. That is because of the power of this site. While I was just sitting back and observing, I was able to see the good things it has done. From Dallas Cowboys and Pittsburgh Steelers fans going back and forth (No offense to other teams, but there is no other rivalry than this one!!), to people reminiscing on days at their Junior High School (Let’s get someone to start a string for a Junior High other than Riverview!) to people posting events and gatherings for everyone to join in. . It’s like watching your child grow up.

Eric and I are always discussing how to make this site better with what limited things we can do. If you have any ideas on what we might need to try and post on this site, please contact an administrator and let them know. We want to see more people on here.

I will close this week and say I will do a better job in the future of keeping this column updated and let’s all do a good job of spreading the word about OUR website.
